Teacher Mini Album: Part 3

I am finally back with the last part f mini album for Mady's teacher. I also made one for morgnas teacher that I will put at the end of this post.

I left this one blank because it was so busy already. Gives a nice background for a 4x6 photo.

These corner pieces were adhered just right to fit another 4x6 photo.

Two tags in each pocket make great places to add extra photos or journaling.

I love the chalkboard look to this paper, this is the back cover so I left it blank.

And here is the one I made for Morgans teacher. I followed the same principles and used the same base album and paper pad, but it turned out quite different but equally as cute!

Hope this brings you some inspiration!
Happy Crafting!

Teacher Mini Album: Part 2

So I have finished a couple of pages today and thought I would share. I have really had a lot of fun making this album!
The cute little clip at the top is another one of those finds from the dollar bin at Michael's. They came in a package of 8 for only $1! What a find! The black part is actually chalkboard. I will probably write their teachers name in it with paint pen once I know who they have. I also made the tags from the paper bad.

This is the back of the front cover. It's hard to see but there are 4 tags in a pocket that I made with a torn piece of the paper pad. he tags are pictured below.

This is the front of the second page, the apple embellishment was left open on two sides to be able to tuck a picture underneath.

And last one for tonight...this is the back of the second page. I tried to incorporate as many tags as possible since this album only has 4 pages. I wanted their teachers to be able to add as many photos as possible.

Teacher Mini Album: Part 1

I've been thinking about school starting a lot this week. I go back to school on Monday, and the girls will be back in school before I know it (yippee!). I finished my school supply shopping today, which was relatively painless and was trying to think of something I could make each of the girls teachers with things I already had....and there was born the Teacher Mini Album. I started with a 5x7 chipboard album that I picked up at Michael's for a whopping $1.50 awhile back. I ALWAYS stop by those bins when I walk in the store because you never know what great things you will find! I also used an 8x8 paper pad called The Grade School Stack by DCWV. Great little pad. I used it last year to alter some letters for the girls teachers to hang in their classrooms. Here's all my supplies...
Next I cut all the papers to fit...
And then I adhered them using Glossy Accents really close to the edges. I prefer to use liquid adhesive for this because it keeps the paper ice and flat instead of the edges coming up. After the pieces were adhered I used my Crop-A-Dile (LOVE this thing!) to make the holes where the ring will go. Next I sanded all the edges with my Big Brother sanding tool to make them nice and smooth to prevent any paper cuts...

(Both sides are covered with
paper, just not shown.)

I used a Tim Holt Alterations Die-Tiny Tabs and Tags (Sizzix) to make a bunch of tags and tabs to use in album. Not sure which ones I will actually end up using but I now have plenty to choose from.

The paper stack comes with several cutouts, so that's what I did next.

Then I this tool to make some "buttons"...

Not sure if you can tell but the tops are glossy and raised, giving them some dimension.

Then I made some larger tags using the scraps I had left over (3x3 and 3x5). I can't stand to waste pretty paper...

The last two things I did were to color some white crocheted roses that I got from I Am Roses with Ranger Alcohol Ink and spray paint some Tim Holtz metal embellishments with silver spray paint, they used to be an antique bronze but that didn't go with my project...

I will probably end up adding a pearl to these pretty little flowers.

That's all for tonight...keep a look out for part 2 coming soon!

A couple cards...

Tonight the girls and I had "craft night." basically that means I give free reign for them to use my stuff. While they were working on their own creations I decided to make a coupe of cards to keep in my stash...
