Breast Cancer Ribbon Scarf {Project}

Tonight after I made my layout, I had a few minutes to do another project and I had some extra Pink Ribbon fleece that I got for next to nothing because it was a remnant at Joann's. I thought I would throw together a quick scarf. Fleece is great to work with because it doesn't fray. Love that. Both of my grandmothers have had breast cancer and so this scarf has extra special meaning to me. :)

This was super simple. I am a pretty novice sewer so if I can do, anyone can. I took a strip of fabric the length of the fabric (44inches?) and about 18 inches wide. To be honest I was lazy and didn't measure it. I just cut it to where I didn't think it would be too bulky but big enough to cover my neck. The scarf is actually kind of short, but works just fine and I used what I had. Once you have cut your strip, fold in half long ways with right sides facing each other and sew a seem down the long edge, leaving the short edges open. When finished, flip it ride side out and cut the ends into 4-5inch strips, then knot the strips together to get the "fringe." Viola!
